More than 1,000 students, faculty and staff members attended the President’s Picnic and Student Organization and Vendor Fair Thursday, Aug. 24, in the Sid Richardson Gym at Texas Wesleyan University.
There were more than 41 on-and-off campus vendors – including Student Government Association, Gay-Straight Alliance, Rambler Media Group, Student Veterans Organization, Career Services, International Programs and many other campus organizations – exhibiting in the gym during the annual event, which welcomes students to the fall semester. The picnic also offered free food, music and performances by the Texas Wesleyan pep band.
“Going to the President’s Picnic is something I always look forward to attending because it officially kicks off our next school year,” Demi Dotson, senior cheerleader captain and member of Pi Gamma Mu, said. “This was the best turnout I think I have seen in all four years of attending, and it makes me even more excited to see the increased interaction of students on campus as we kick off the beginning of our long anticipated football season.”
