March 28 Emergency Preparedness Training rescheduled for April 13

The March 28 Emergency Preparedness Training Session is canceled so everyone can attend the basketball championship celebration during free period on the campus mall. The session is rescheduled for 12:15 p.m. on Thursday, April 13 in the Science Lecture Theatre.
If you have a conflict with the rescheduled date of April 13, please contact Texas Wesleyan’s Risk Manager, Juan Azcarate, jazcarate@txwes.edu.
If you have previously registered for the March 28 session, your registration will transfer. Registration is not required for the April 13 session, but there will be sign-in sheets at the door.

Each session will teach faculty and staff members how to be ready for and react in a variety of potential campus emergencies. Some of the situations include:
- Severe weather
- Fire
- Weapons
- Medical emergencies
Chris Beckrich, head of Campus Security, will present the 45-minute training session. Other topics include how to respond in an active shooter or hostage situation, evacuation procedures, utilities information and Title IX compliance.
