Students enrolled in the Fall 2014 Conservation Biology course at Texas Wesleyan University document the extinction threat to white rosinweed, a native Texas endemic plant species.

Their work is published in the July 2015 issue of Post Oak and Prairie Journal, a journal published through local nonprofit Crosstimbers Connection.

The publication evolved from a laboratory exercise conducted annually by the class. The work examines the viability of indigenous white rosinweed (Silphium albiflorum) populations in Tarrant County, Texas in an effort to determine whether remaining populations are reproducing effectively.

They paint a dim picture of the species' future in Tarrant County.
