Join the Black Student Association, Student Life and the Student Government Association from 5 - 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 11 in Martin Hall when Texas Wesleyan University hosts Dr. Wafeeq Sabir for a community outreach event exploring police and community.
Dr. Sabir brings 25 years of combined experience in policing, public safety and law enforcement administration with the Fort Worth Police Department to the event and will share with audience members ways to improve relations within the community and police, timely and relevant information about rights when stopped by police and share entertaining insights from his years of experience bridging communities and law enforcement.
About Dr. Sabir
Dr. Wafeeq Sabir is a published author, religious diversity facilitator for the Department of Justice and a former gang expert witness for the Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office. He is past-president of the Fort Worth Chapter of the National Black Police Association, assistant director of education for the Nu Pi Lamda Educational Foundation, a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity and serves as assistant to the president at Tarrant County College-Trinity River Campus.
