As a finance major, you’ll be given the (house) keys to successfully break into the industry by becoming a real estate broker or an appraiser. As a broker, you’ll help people and businesses buy properties and secure loans, and as an appraiser you’ll get to go on-site to evaluate the property to make sure your clients are getting a fair value. The industry is constantly changing, but is rewarding — both personally and financially.
Work in commercial banking
A job in commercial banking gives you the opportunity to learn about business and communicate with people daily. If you like helping people find solutions, becoming a commercial lender may be a career option for you. You’ll work with individuals and businesses to come up with ways to solve their debt. Or if you want a different challenge, check out becoming a branch manager. You could work at a local bank and may gain access to leadership opportunities and oversee different areas of banking.
