DNAP professor honored for leadership in nursing

Paul Austin, CRNA, Ph.D., was honored with an Alumni Legacy Award from his alma mater, the University of Cincinnati College of Nursing in April. He received his Ph.D. there in 2001.

The 125 recipients of the award were selected for their demonstrated leadership and philanthropy in practice, research, education and/or service in healthcare.

Austin is an integral part of the Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Program at Texas Wesleyan. His primary focus is teaching doctoral students evidence-based practice, curriculum design and nurse anesthesia education administration. He is also the chairman of the Practice Committee of American Association of Nurse Anesthetists and a chair onsite reviewer for the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational programs.
