Getting your master's in school counseling is a giant step forward in your career in education. Your classes are preparing you to impact students lives in a big way. After graduation, you're ready to do any of the jobs below.

Work in education

You have your degree in school counseling and you passed the TExES certification exam. You're ready to be a school counselor in a public, private or charter school setting.

Go into other areas of counseling

The courses you take to get your master's in school counseling apply toward becoming certified as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Licensed Professional Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT). Many school counselors go on to take the remaining classes to have even more options after graduation.

As a school counselor with your LPC or LMFT, you can work in a psychiatric hospital or a private practice setting.
