K. Helena Bussell, Ph.D., has served as Associate Provost at Texas Wesleyan since 2003.
Her primary roles include coordinating University assessment and unit planning, serving as accreditation liaison for the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and supervising University academic student support services such as the academic resource center, new student programs, developmental programs, academic advising, student records and international programs.
Dr. Bussell holds an MBA from Georgia College and State University and a doctorate in history from the University of Texas – Arlington. Prior to her current role, Dr. Bussell served Wesleyan as university registrar and as assistant to the provost for international programs, academic policy and planning.
Steven J. Daniell, Ph.D., has served as Associate Provost of Academic Affairs since 2016.
His primary roles include overseeing University-wide programs such as Disability Services, the Pre-Professional and the Wesleyan Scholars Programs, the Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP), Rambler Media, and University College (General Education Curriculum). He oversees program review for academic programs and coordinates with consortial groups such as the Texas Learning Consortium and the new College Consortium of online programs. He also leads efforts to improve student retention through the implementation of the SSC-Campus advising platform.
Dr. Daniell holds a B.A. in English and French from Texas Tech University, as well as an M.A. and Ph.D. in French from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He served for seven years on the Executive Committee of the American Association of Teachers of French, and for three years on the Undergraduate Education Advisory Committee of the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. Prior to becoming Associate Provost, Dr. Daniell served for seven years as the Dean of the School of Arts and Letters at Texas Wesleyan.
