53rd Annual Poly Community Center and TXWES Christmas Party

In 1970, Omega Chi and the Religion Department of Texas Wesleyan organized and held the first Christmas party for children of families being served by the Polytechnic Community Center. For many of these children, it provided the only Christmas gift they received. This year will be the 53rd Annual Polytechnic Christmas party sponsored by Texas Wesleyan. It will be held at the Polytechnic Community Center (1616 Avenue I) on Thursday, Dec. 8 from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

This year TXWES' new mariachi band will be providing the music and Santa will make an appearance to hand out gifts to 80 children from the Poly area.

Students, faculty, staff and alumni are ALL invited to be a part of this special tradition. Participants can choose to donate money for gifts or sponsor a child and provide the gifts. Donations can be made through Dr. Alison Simons (asimons@txwes.edu) via either cash or Venmo. Those wishing to sponsor one or more children can add their names to the wish list (found here) and purchase and deliver the gifts to campus.

Wrapped gifts can be delivered to Amy Tate-Almy’s office in the Alumni Relations Office on the 2nd floor of the Administration Building, to Tamika Johnson’s office, PUMC 256 or to Dr. Simons’ office, PUMC 246.

Make your plans to be a part of this event supporting the Texas Wesleyan community.
