Irvin and Sarah (Archer) ’69 Jackson celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary in February.

Perry Cockerell ’78 and wife Camille welcomed baby girl Margaux in March.

Mike Ball ’79 M.Ed. ’87 was inducted into the Texas High School Athletic Directors Association Hall of Honor.

Pamela Vicenti-Lawson '87 received her Doctor of Education in Leadership K-12 from Dallas Baptist University last semester. She is currently the Guidance Counselor at St. Paul's Preparatory Academy in Arlington.

Robert Hughes M.Ed. ’83 HON ’03 was selected to be inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame this year. Hughes was a high school basketball coach for 47 years at both Dunbar High School and Terrell High School, here in Fort Worth. Throughout his coaching career, he has 1,333 wins, 247 losses, has won 5 state championships and has been recognized by five other organizations for his accomplishments.

Alvaro Ortiz ’92 competed in the Latin American Amateur Championship and represented Mexico in the last two World Amateur Team Championships.

Mike Rose ’94, founder, and CEO of Mojo Media Labs and his company received the Healthcare Marketer of the Year award and were named 2017 DFW AMA Marketer of the Year at the DFW American Marketing Association awards gala.

The North Texas Community Foundation’s young philanthropy group, WORTH: The Next Generation of Philanthropists, awarded $23,000 to Texas Wesleyan alumna and Literacy United founder Kary Johnson M.Ed. ’03, Ed.D. ’13. The grant will fund Literacy United’s Reading Panthers. Reading Panthers is a summer reading intervention program for struggling readers attending the Panther Boys and Girls Club. The project will launch in June of 2017 and will serve approximately 50 children ages five to eight who are 100% economically disadvantaged.

Kathryn Wheeler King '04, and her husband Justin King welcomed daughter Harper Ridley on December 7th.

Shay Dial Johnson ’05 was promoted to vice president of community engagement at Goodwill Industries of Fort Worth, Inc. As vice president of community engagement, Johnson will be responsible for leading marketing, public affairs, media and community engagement and special fundraising activities for the nonprofit.

Shanidrea Evans ’16 was cast as Risa in Jubilee Theatre’s production of Two Trains Running.
