Gary T. Balch ’74 was recently honored by Everman ISD. In February, 200+ family, friends, students and teammates gathered at Everman HS to celebrate and dedicate the new Gary T. Balch Ballpark. Gary’s sons also attended TXWES – Garrett Balch ’03 and Marcus Balch ’99.

Brad Oldham ’89 appeared on the TV show Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Making the Team. He not only designs their belt buckles, but he created a metal swimsuit for the DCC calendar shoot.

Sharon Roberson Jones ’96, executive director and founder of Excellent Teen Choice, was nominated for the John Maxwell Transformational Leadership Award.

Chris Masingill ’97 was recently named CEO of St. Tammany Parish Development District. He previously served as federal co-chairman of the Delta Regional Authority. Masingill will head STPDD as it assumes the role of the parish's lead economic development organization.

Tiffany Hanzik ’09 joined Texas Secure Title Company as the Collin + Dallas County Manager and In-house attorney. 

Joy (Millard) ’11 and Chris ’10 Hatcher welcomed their new baby Orland (Ollie) Wiley Hatcher into the world on May 29.

Heath Scott ’11 and wife Ashley welcomed their beautiful baby girl, Abigail, into the world last month.

Ashly Spencer ’11 was recognized by the blog Teach to Teach as its first Teacher of the Month. 

Christian Garcia ’12 married Jason Wommack on April 28 in Fort Worth.

In June, Justin Mikulencak ’13 was commissioned to be ordained in the Methodist Church.

Niky Morrison ’15 graduated with her masters of science in higher education administration with a concentration in student affairs in April from the University of North Florida in Jacksonville. She recently accepted a position at Florida Gateway College in Lake City to help build their residential and housing life, orientation and first-year experience programs.

Abbey Reece ’16 graduated with her MPA from the University of North Texas in May. She is currently the assistant to the city manager for the City of Justin.

Tyler Guse ’17 will be starting a new job as Costume Technician for Disney Cruise Lines in Oct.

Nikki Lockwood ’17 is being hailed a hero for making a major drug bust just hours into her career as a Southlake police officer. Her story was featured in the Fort Worth Star Telegram, on WFAA/News 8 and on the Southlake DPS Facebook page. 

Jacey Patton ’18 was filmed during the 2018 Fort Worth Invitational Golf Tournament at Colonial Country Club and featured on NBC’s The Golf Channel. She was a recipient of the Ben Hogan Foundation Mentor Scholarship and discussed her experience as a student at the University.

Four classmates represented TXWES at Stonehenge in England – Steve Courington ’87, Mark Harris ’86, Melissa (Dunlap) Hunt ’88 and Barbara Sedan ’88.
