Congratulations to Noelani Villiarimo on receiving the Alumni Legacy Scholarship! Noelani is one of four recipients for the 2023-24 school year that will receive support from funds raised by the Alumni Association throughout the year.
Noelani Villiarimo, whose sisters also attended Wesleyan, is a computer science major with a biology and mathematics minor who is graduating in 2024. Her goal after college is to become a software engineer.
When asked what receiving the Alumni Legacy Scholarship meant to her, Noelani responded "This scholarship demonstrates that I belong and made the correct decision in returning to Texas Wesleyan University. I am eternally thankful for the help from my family and community. With the honor of receiving this award, I aim to set off a fruitful chain reaction in my future. I intend to work hard, strive for success, and give back to Texas Wesleyan."
Like many students at TXWES, the smaller classes and student body drew Noelani to the close sense of community that is fostered at the university. Noelani picked Texas Wesleyan because of the professors, advisers, tutors, students and everyone else who is a part of the Texas Wesleyan community — people who continually supported and inspired her. One of Noelani's favorite things about TXWES is her professors' dedication and enthusiasm. She stated, "As a student, I am eager to study in their classroom and retain more information in one semester than I would in three years at another university. Texas Wesleyan University is a real hidden gem. I intend to keep in touch with them once I graduate from Texas Wesleyan."
We are grateful to alumni and friends of the university who help support our students and make scholarships like this possible.
