February is Black History Month, which recognizes the contributions, achievements and the central role of African Americans in U.S. history. We celebrate the Black history being made today and every day.

The Black Student Association (BSA) is hosting a “Rose Stop” from noon-1 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 14 on the first floor of the Martin University Center. You can grab a snack, make a Valentine’s Day card and get a rose to gift to a significant other or friend.
BSA will also be having a skate night at Rollerland West (7325 Calmont Ave.). Come make some new friends, support your RAMily and strap on those rollerblades from 7-9 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 26.

Support our local Black-owned coffee shop, Black Coffee. The coffee shop is just steps away from campus and will be celebrating Christene C. Moss on her birthday, Feb. 11, by displaying her accomplishments and serving her favorite drinks. Moss was the first female African American board president for Fort Worth ISD and is a Master School Board Trustee of Leadership Texas Association of School Boards. She is an advocate for all children, passionate about literacy and has fought for equity in FWISD.
You can also support Black Coffee all year long by stopping in for a drink or snack! The shop offers coffee, including a honey lavender latte and caramel apple matcha latte, tea, hot chocolate, breakfast tacos and an assortment of baked goods.
