Texas Wesleyan to host conversation on Missing & Murdered Indigenous Women

Join Student Diversity and Inclusion Programs during free period (12:30-1:30 p.m.) on Nov. 2 for a conversation regarding Missing & Murdered Indigenous Women (MMIW) in the Martin Center Ballrooms.

Jodi Voice-Yellowfish is the Chair of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women’s Texas Rematriate, an organization dedicated to providing vital support to Indigenous families facing the unimaginable crisis of a missing relative. She has been instrumental in the efforts to aid these families through various means, from distributing missing persons fliers to leading on-the-ground search initiatives. She has spoken at numerous events and even delivered a compelling TEDx Talk, outlining the importance of tangible, actionable work in the MMIW movement.

During our event, Jodi Voice-Yellowfish will share her insights, experiences, and vision for addressing MMIW. This is an excellent opportunity to learn more about this critical issue and discover how we can all contribute to creating positive change.

Student Diversity and Inclusion Programs believe that education and awareness are vital in addressing the MMIW crisis, and this event will provide a platform for meaningful discussion and action. We encourage all members of our campus community who have an interest in Indigenous rights, social justice, and community advocacy to join the conversation.
