The Texas Wesleyan University women's basketball team will make the short cross-town trip to Texas Christian University on Sunday, Nov. 9, to square off with the NCAA Division I Big 12 Conference TCU Horned Frogs at 2 p.m.
The game will be played in TCU's University Recreation Center because of ongoing renovations at Daniel-Meyer Coliseum. Live coverage of the event can be found by clicking here.
This will be the 25th meeting between the two programs. The Lady Rams are 16-8 all-time against TCU, although they have not met since December of 1984. The Lady Rams won that contest 71-56. Texas Wesleyan is also 3-2 versus the Horned Frogs in men's basketball, although those programs have not met since 1982.
Athletic competitions between the two Fort Worth institutions have been few and far between. TCU has frequently played individuals in Texas Wesleyan's UST Mamiya Golf Tournament, but the last head-to-head meeting was in men's soccer in 2000, a game the Rams took 2-1 behind the brilliant goalkeeping of current Texas Wesleyan head coach Josh Gibbs.
Sunday's game, which is an exhibition for TCU and a live contest for Texas Wesleyan, will be a tall order for the Lady Rams.
Aside from the difference in the size of each program, the Rams will be playing the tail end of back-to-back-to-back contests and their fourth game in five days. That stretch begins Wednesday evening with a meeting with 6th-ranked Wiley College.
The Rams then play Friday and Saturday in the SAGU Classic in Waxahachie before returning to Fort Worth to take on the Frogs.
