Digitizing Theater History Survey

04.18.2016 | By:
Phil Labhart performs in Cabaret (1977).

West Library is applying for a grant to digitize the Mason Johnson Theater collection. This collection consists of posters, playbills, photographs, audio recordings, and letters concerning plays put on at Texas Wesleyan College, specifically the annual Broadway musicals between 1958 and 1985.

The committee applying for the grant would love to hear your thoughts on this project in the form of a short survey. Yor answers to this survey will help the Digitization and Special Collections departments at the library decide if we are on the right track.

We hope to learn what you think of this project, and whether or not you believe it is important for the university to preserve the history of our theater performances.

Hard copy surveys will be available at West Library April 18-24, as well as in the Thad Smotherman Theater lobby April 21-24 (just before and during the Clue: The Musical performances).

Samples of items we would be digitizing will be on display at both locations, such as the image featured in this story of Phil Labhart performing in 1977's Cabaret. If you prefer to take the survey online, please do so by clicking here.
