Michael Smith named Staff Hero at October 2020 Town Hall meeting

During President Frederick G. Slabach's October 2020 Town Hall meeting, John Veilleux, vice president for marketing & communications, recognized Michael B. Smith, web developer, with the Staff Hero Award.

The Staff Hero Award honors staff members for their efforts toward reaching the goals of the University's 2020 Vision.

“They say you only notice a web developer’s work when it doesn’t work, so Michael’s work often goes unnoticed,” Veilleux said. "He puts in many long hours, and leads the charge to create an online experience that is intuitive, easy-to-use and works with ease.”

Smith’s projects include the implementation of the revamped news & events site, the alumni site, the Wesleyan Flame, new academics pages and countless landing pages designed for the university’s recruitment efforts.

Staff Hero Award

The University’s 2020 Vision defines Texas Wesleyan’s priorities and serves as a road map to educational excellence. Staff members play a key role in supporting and achieving these goals.

The Staff Hero Award nomination will come from Executive Staff and one Staff Hero Award will be announced at the end of each 2020 Town Hall Meeting. The recipient will also be announced through the Wesleyan Flame.
