It is with great pleasure that I recognize the IT Academic Services team, Micah Marin, Chris Forbes, Kenneth Flowers, Charles Martin, Gerry Nichols and Greg Tidwell, for their excellent work.
Some of you may not realize it, but we all see their work in action. Micah, Gerry, Charles and Chris work behind the scenes to prepare audio and visual equipment for the many presentations and university events that occur throughout the year.
Greg supports faculty on a regular basis with Blackboard and online teaching resources and Kenneth supports GPNA by handling technical connections to their satellite classroom locations, while also supporting weekend university events.
This past semester, the team has been involved in the success of our spring board members’ meeting and the articulation-signing event with Tarrant County College, as well as every Open Forum, emergency preparedness training and Staff Council info session.
Chris and Kenneth made sure all technical aspects of our commencement ceremonies went off without a hitch. Gerry, Charles and Micah even developed a GoPro camera rig to go in the university pool to stream live video of the SCUBA program’s underwater graduation ceremony.
IT Academic Services’ creativity, dependability, vast knowledge of technical systems and “can-do” spirit make them a great team and asset to our school. As a University we count on them daily for success in our jobs, which ultimately helps us serve our students better. Next time you see Micah, Chris, Kenneth, Charles, Gerry or Greg, please take a moment to say congratulations on a job well done.
