President's G.E.M. Award: Sherri Caraballo

08.03.2013 | By:

In recognition of great work on our campus, I will be spotlighting examples of excellence by departments or individuals who have shown extraordinary performance. My G.E.M. (Going the Extra Mile) Award recognizes people who continue to make Texas Wesleyan a supportive and nurturing environment for our students.

There are certain staff members who work diligently across all departments and all levels of the University to provide help to anyone who needs it. Sherri Caraballo is a prime example.

As our institutional research director, Sherri spends her days entering numbers, compiling and analyzing data, and running reports. But she’s never too busy to assist faculty or staff members who need information for a report or a proposal. She is always courteous and prompt – and follows through to make sure the people making the requests have what they need to do their jobs.

Sherri’s work has been instrumental in helping Texas Wesleyan achieve status as a Military Friendly School and in our recognition as a top tier regional university with U.S. News & World Report. The data she provides to external organizations help others evaluate us against our peers.

On top of her other duties, she is now helping organize the Southern Region Datatel Users Group Conference, which will be held in Dallas.

I am proud of Sherri’s commitment to excellence. Her critical data delivery is essential to so many of our operations, and I want to thank her for going the extra mile.
