November is Financial Literacy Month at Texas Wesleyan, and it starts with the kick-off event from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 4, on the Campus Mall.
Information will be available from sponsors and a free lunch provided for students, faculty and staff who visit sponsors' tables.
Throughout the month, more than 20 events including games, workshops and presentations will be scheduled with students earning a raffle ticket for each activity attended. The raffle drawing will be held at the Dec. 2 Winter Wonderland, where students may win a variety of prizes, including:
Financial Literacy games on the Mall include "Financial Football," "The REAL Game of Life," "Giant Jenga" and "Financial Literacy Monopoly." At other locations, you can try your hand at "Financial Literacy Trivia" and "Moolah Jeopardy."
November workshops include "The Psychology of Debt & Spending," "Managing Money in Your Marriage," "Predatory Lending," "Holiday Spending Tips" and "Ballin' on a Budget."
Check with your professor – you might get extra credit for participation. Also, prizes will be awarded at each event.

We also offer special thanks to the Offices of the Provost, Financial Aid, Admissions, Alumni Relations, Career Services and Sponsored Programs & External Relations for their support.
"Smaller. Smarter." can also refer to your loans and debts throughout your life. For more information about Financial Literacy Month, contact Sandy Myers at 817-531-7521 or smyers@txwes.edu.
