Michele Copelin, who was the financial aid director at Clarendon College, has been named assistant controller for Texas Wesleyan University.
In this role, Copelin will work with Caron Patton, our controller, to prepare and report financial statements that conform to accounting principles and regulatory requirements. She will also be responsible for managing, reviewing and overseeing the accounts payable and payroll areas of the business office.
“I deeply value education, I have a passion for accounting, and I thank God for the opportunity to be part of the Texas Wesleyan University team,” she said.
Copelin brings 16 years of experience in public and private accounting. Prior to joining Texas Wesleyan, Copelin worked for four years at Clarendon College, located in the Texas Panhandle.
A native of Washington, Copelin moved to Texas in 1990 and earned a Master of Science in Accounting at the University of North Texas.
She is married to Jim Copelin and they have two children and grandchildren. The family is very active in the Kairos Prison Ministry, which seeks to rehabilitate incarcerated men and women. Michele Copelin also enjoys backpacking, hunting, fly fishing, and gardening.
