Texas Wesleyan University Recognized as a 2013 Military Friendly School

09.17.2012 | By:

Texas Wesleyan University has been named to the Military Friendly Schools® list by Victory Media. The 2013 list honors the top 15 percent of colleges, universities and trade schools that are doing the most to embrace America’s military service members, veterans, and spouses as students and ensure their success on campus.

The announcement comes one week after Texas Wesleyan was ranked, for the third year in a row, in the #1 tier of regional universities in the West by U.S. News & World Report.

“We have long welcomed veterans and the military community at large and are delighted to receive this recognition,” Frederick G. Slabach, president of Texas Wesleyan University, said. “Those with military service appreciate our strong values and engaging faculty who provide individualized attention on a small, friendly campus. And we appreciate and honor their service at graduation with honor cords and services pins.”

Now in its fourth year, the 2013 list of Military Friendly Schools ® was compiled through extensive research and a data-driven survey of more than 12,000 Veterans Affairs-approved schools nationwide. The survey tabulation process, methodology and weightings that comprise the 2013 list were independently verified by Ernst and Young LLP.

Texas Wesleyan University proudly participates in the Yellow Ribbon Program, which allows for institutional funds and VA benefits to cover the full cost of education. The private university offers undergraduate degrees with 60 programs of study within four schools: Arts and Letters, Natural and Social Sciences, Business, and Education.
