Residency Exemption Request
The university housing policy requires that all students with less than 30 college credit hours who are under the age of 21 are required to live in on-campus university housing. Certain exemptions to this policy do apply. This request may only be used if you do not have a room assignment and would like to be exempt from the housing requirement. If you have already had a room assignment, you will need to complete a Housing Contract Release Request in addition to the Residency Requirement Exemption Request. The Residency Requirement Exemption Request form is located in myHousing under the Forms/Request section.
Please note that exemption requests may take up to 7 business days to process. The length of the review process depends on which reason you are submitting an exemption and the volume of previously submitted exemption requests.
You will receive an email to your Texas Wesleyan email address when your Exemption Request has been processed, you can also check the status of the request in myHousing.
