April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) across the nation and at Texas Wesleyan University.
The Office of Student Life, together with several student organizations, is working to educate and empower students to put a stop to sexual violence, particularly on a college campus.
Check out the on-campus events listed below and mark your calendars. Your participation helps to prevent sexual assault through education and awareness.
1) Adulting 101: What is making out?
Join the Office of Student Life for a discussion-based event, structured so students can ask anonymous questions to promote open and honest dialogue.
This fashion show is focused on educating students about consent. At the end of the fashion show, a Q&A with the participants and audience will address consent, rape culture, victim blaming, and how pop culture and media play a role.
Panelists include a sexual abuse survivor, forensic sexual assault nurse examiner, non-profit director, Fort Worth Police Officer and Texas Wesleyan faculty member.
Awareness event on the campus mall to promote last year’s President’s Proclamation to continue Sexual Assault Awareness education. Campus organizations will host tables with information and activities for students.
