What We Do
  • Assist in protecting the health, safety and welfare of the students and members of the Texas Wesleyan community.
  • Support the student academic and personal success.
  • Provide a comprehensive response to students whose behavior is distruptive, disturbing or concerning.
When to Refer

The Care Team is designed to assist and help students. While understanding ways to identify distress, disturbance and dysregulation may be helpful, the Care Team is here is conduct the intervention. If there is ever an immediate danger, call emergency services (911). When in doubt, err on the side of referral.

When a student’s behavior is beyond the normal classroom disruption and they appear to be distressed or disturbed, please contact the Care Team for assistance. The team will then evaluate circumstances and determine an appropriate course of action.

To refer a student to the Care Team, you may email the Care Team or the Dean of Students or call a Care Team representative at 817/531.7545. If you have not witnessed any specific behaviors, but are concerned for a student please call or email for assistance.
