This class will help set you up to learn more advanced project management skills in future courses.
Leadership (MGT 4308)
Don’t be a follower. Learn how to be a leader in this course. You’ll go through self-assessments, cases, discussions and some simulations to explore how to thrive as a leader in your office and get the best out of both you and your staff.
Negotiation and Conflict Resolution (MGT 4359)
In the business world, you have to be prepared to give and take. That’s where your negotiation skills will come into play. In this course, with a focus on negotiation in the workplace, you’ll examine your individual negotiation style and tweak it to get the most out of it. You’ll then put those skills to the test with, and sometimes against, your classmates to develop your personal negotiation strategy.
Management Theory and Practice (MGT 3319)
Mastering the fundamentals is important in any line of work and management is no exception. Here, you’ll get off to a strong start by learning the basic concepts of the field, giving you the skills to work with as you move to more advanced courses.
Human Resource Management (MGT 3320)
Speaking of those advanced courses, here is one where those fundamentals will come in handy. Much of this course focuses on management in a human resources setting. That means discussing how to manage staffing, employee training and labor relations, among other topics. Not interested in going into HR specifically?
