About Marriage & Family Therapy

Our goal is to teach students how to function with a high level of competence. We want students to make a contribution to the marriage and family therapy (MFT) field with intervention-based research looking at family systems. You'll graduate with your degree qualified to work in many different areas of the counseling field.

The Graduate Counseling Programs at Texas Wesleyan University welcome and encourage applications from potential students, faculty and staff from diverse backgrounds in terms of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, socioeconomic status, age, physical abilities, religious beliefs, political beliefs and other ideologies.  

The program is delivered and maintained from a multiculturally-informed perspective including course design, implementation and student and faculty experience.

As a student in a COAMFTE-COAMFTE Logoaccredited program, you'll meet your licensure requirements with more ease and you'll have more consideration when you're applying for jobs after graduation.
