A grant is a financial award, often, but not always, from a federal or government agency. You apply for grants when you fill out the FAFSA. Generally, grants do not have to be repaid.

Under the National Professional Development Program (NPD), Texas Wesleyan University has been awarded by the U.S. Department of Education's Office of English Language Acquisition (OELA) $2.4 million for five years to train bilingual educators. Through the NPD program, grants are available to transfer students who want to get a Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood through 6th Grade Bilingual (EC-6).
The Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship Program provides funding to institutions of higher education to provide scholarships, stipends and programmatic support to recruit and prepare STEM majors and professional to become K-12 teachers. The program seeks to increase the number of K-12 teachers with strong STEM content knowledge who teach in high-need school districts.
Up to $46,800 in scholarships are available for students completing STEM teacher certification requirements as an undergraduate at Texas Wesleyan University.
