Football Game Halftime Shows | Sept. 14 & Oct. 5
We’re celebrating with not just one, but two football games featuring Hispanic and Latinx cultural halftime performances.
Join us Saturday, Sept. 14 for the 6 p.m. game at the Crowley ISD Multi-Purpose Stadium for the Northside High School Mariachi band performance. Then come see Texas Wesleyan’s very own mariachi band, Oro Azul, at the Saturday, Oct. 5 game at North Crowley High School at 4 p.m. This game will also have dance performances by the Texas Wesleyan Goldline Dancers and Ballet Folklorico, as well as a presentation of national flags. Wear your Hispanic and Latinx pride!
Fiestas Patrias Parade | Sept. 15
The Fiestas Patrias Parade happens annually in the Fort Worth Stockyards. March in the parade from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. or come out to cheer on your fellow Rams — it’s free! The parade will have Consul General of México, Fort Worth City Officials, Charros, Escaramuzas, dancing horses, floats, Hispanic organizations, universities and much more fun.

Hispanic/Latinx Heritage Month Kick-Off | Sept. 17
Celebrate the start of festivities on campus with our annual Hispanic/Latinx Heritage Month Kick-Off event from noon to 2 p.m. on the Kay Granger Mall and the Stepp Amphitheatre (that’s on the east side of the Martin Center). Enjoy live music, performances and vibrant vendor booths highlighting heritage and unity.

Join us in Martin Hall from 12:30-1:30 p.m. for a fascinating exploration of two vibrant musical traditions: Bomba and Mariachi. This shared student presentation will delve into the rich cultural histories and musical styles of these unique genres.

Free Salsa Dance Lessons | Sept. 24

Student Diversity and Inclusion Programs is sponsoring a Pan Dulce Bar starting at 11 a.m. in the Martin Center. Come indulge in a variety of delicious Mexican pastries and sweet breads! The event is first-come, first-served, so don’t miss out — come early and enjoy while supplies last!
Jotería Night | Oct. 2
Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with a queer twist at our Jotería Night at Lou’s Place from 6-8 p.m. Enjoy a fun-filled evening of traditional Mexican bingo (lotería) with a queer/Latinx perspective. Connect with the LGBTQ+ community and explore the rich cultural heritage of Hispanic/Latinx individuals.
