Sociology is the study of human life, groups and societies. As a sociology major, you'll systematically study different social situations to understand and explain them. You'll study patterns and activity, social structures and cultural beliefs and values in different societies. If you want to work with groups and people, sociology is the degree for you.
You won't just sit in a classroom for the next four years. As part of your degree, you'll complete at least one semester of an internship. Working in the field, you'll learn to see the world from a sociologist's point of view. In your classes, you'll gain the industry expertise you need to start your career or continue your education in graduate school.
